• Course: 6 Security Essentials You Need To Know

In April 2011, Sony admitted to what has become the largest reported data breach in history with over 77 million customer records stolen by hackers. As a direct result of the breach, Sony has re-evaluated earnings predictions for the 2010/11 fiscal year from a profit to a loss of US$3.2 billion.

The security threat landscape is shifting. Hackers are no longer independent, they are formed in underground online communities or as part of crime syndicates operating anywhere in the world and outside local jurisdictional boundaries.

With over 75% of reported breaches directly related to vulnerabilities in web applications - we have identified The 6 Security Essentials that every solutions architect and developer needs to know.
